On April 27, 2022 the longest and the tallest bridge in the Philippines, Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX) is officially open to the public. The new bridge improves connectivity and help reduce traffic congestion in Metro Cebu.
The design
The Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway spans 8.5 kilometres, connecting Cordova to Cebu City, the second largest city in the Philippines. With its monumental scale, the bridge is certain to become a local focal point; The link’s 400-metre, cable-stayed main span is supported by two single pylons, rising to a height of 145 metres. Besides the main span bridge with a 60-metre navigation clearance to allow for shipping, the project includes viaduct approach bridges and a causeway as well as toll-road facilities on an artificial island.
Serving as an alternate route to and from Mactan Cebu International Airport, the CCLEX has been conceived to enhance economic growth and increase development in the region.

daily, cutting the travel time between Mactan and Cebu International Airport by 40 minutes, and relieving congestion on the existing inter-island crossings.
